Half Day Time Off Given For All Avaya Employee

Extremely Quiet Day!

7 of us come into the office today, so quiet. Not much things to do (no issue coming in) due to holiday season - Some work from home, some on leave, and some are on business trip. Mail server having problem, not able to received emails and those emails that send out are sitting in outbox. Internet access also having problem, either slow network or can't access to the site, therefore not much progress.

All of them planned and wanted to go back home early. so do I.

My 2006 Christmas Day - Dinner at Tung Lok Signatures Vivo City

After sending my relatives back home, settle down Wayne, rest for a while then we go out again to meet up with my ex-lab assistant and librarian.

Gathering during Christmas day at Tung Lok Signatures - Vivo City. Total of 8 having dinner together, the lady sit beside me are Teck Hin's ex-colleague, 4 of us work in Singapore - Derrick, Weng Thai, hubby & I, and other 3 (Teck Hin, Mun Hin also known as 'Bear-bear' and Soue Hoong) come over to celebrate Christmas and visit.

Hubby & I reached Harbour Front MRT at 6:30pm, we are not familiar with that area, so need to look out for the place. Meet Soue Hoong in front of Tung Lok Signature entrance, she is waiting for bear-bear. Derrick came out to show us the way to the table - so sweet of him. Is nice and great to organise this gathering - meet up and get update with each other.

We occupied their table more than 2 and half hours, so we decide to go elsewhere to have a drink as well to continue our updates. We found a place around there but I can't remember the name of the shop. I just know that I ordered a glass of Blue Caribbean, is a cocktail, it taste great and nice, my hubby and I enjoyed that drink. And of course, we have a happy and wonderful day too!

11:30pm reached home.

My 2006 Christmas Day - Day Outing

Sunny Day.

So we went to Orchard shopping and as well to have our lunch at Din Tai Fung (鼎泰丰). We ordered Noodles with Pork Ribs, Noodles with mincemeat, Fried rice with egg (蛋炒饭), Veggie Dumpling, and Steam Dumplings (小笼包) - is a signature dish. Steam Dumplings is one of the dishes that my hubby like most.

We took some photo with Christmas tree along Orchard Road.

My 2006 Christmas Eve

I have my Log Cake, Gingerbread men (Chocolate and Original Flavour), Gingerbread Xmas Tree (Chocolate and Original Flavour) and a bottle of wine for this year Christmas.

YEAH! This is what I want for this year, and I have it all. 我已心满意足了! I celebrated 2006 Christmas at home with family - My Mum, hubby, Wayne, aunty (大阿姨) and Aunty Cheng. Mummy fried noodles (炒米粉), curry chicken and desert (白果薏米). A surprise that I have is one of my ex-colleague drop by and give my hubby and I a present. He is my Santa Claus, delivering present to us every year . Thanks!

At first we plan to go Orchard Road to spend our Christmas Eve, plan to have our dinner at Lemon Grass, but all of this have to cancel - Rain cause us to cancel our activities. So around 5pm, My hubby and I went down to Park Royal Hotel to buy Log Cake, we choose Chocolate Nougat & Pear Log Cake, the cake nestled between chocolate moose and pear moose (hope my description is correct) - taste nice, not too sweet, worth of trying. We get our gingerbread men and Xmas tree at Takashimaya (basement), and bought a bottle of wine at Cold Storage.

How about yours? How you celebrated your Christmas Eve? Mind to share? I have taken some picture on what we have bought.

I Have Take Up Jewelry Making Course

I have wanted to learn more about Jewelry making and go for a handicraft class long time ago but time not permitted. I come to know about this in year2003 when one of my ex-colleague shows me her own DIY earring and necklaces.

At last, I have make up my mind and decided to go for it, so I sign up the course at CC. How easy to master this technique? I have no idea what I will learn, no idea what will be teach during the session. What I know is that I am very excited and looking forward to the day comes.

Avaya Singapore 1st Pandemic Exercise

Today all employees require their temperature taken at the main reception - Block A. I have taken mine after lunch, 37.4 show in the Thermal Thermometer and a colour sticker with the temperature reading issued to me. This colour sticker need to stick onto your clothes for the day, everyone did that too.

I came out from my house 15 minutes early today but I am late to work still. The train delay and stop at every station for more than a minutes due to some interruption, not much details given. Normally, I need 30 to 35 minutes to reach to the destination (MRT) but today it took me almost 50 minutes to reach. I have to rush to attend for a conference call, can't wait for the bus to arrive, so my hubby and I took a cab to office. I didn't stop at the main reception to have my temperature read, rush to my cubicle, grab my notes and pen then straight away entered to my boss desk.

My Weekend Schedule Changed

Wayne's appointment cancel, he still taking antibiotic so can't go for the injection. Appointment postpone.

I attended 9:15am class and my hubby brought my mum to the clinic, as for the result - everything is fine, no sign of infection, in stage of recovering. My class ended at 10:30am, meet up with them, then we go for breakfast at Crystal Jade Kitchen. As usual, we will have our dim sum at Crystal Jade - Toa Payoh, dim sum there taste nice. To beat the crowd on Sunday, you have to be there early. If you are late, you have to queue for number, you will see lots of people standing around the receptionist counter and some even stand near the entrance. The place is crowded and noisy on Sunday. After breakfast, we shop for weekly grocery at NTUC, then took a cab back home.

2:00 pm I have an appointment, by the time reached home, already 5:00pm. Have my early dinner, rest for while, then just only me and my hubby went out. We took 2 hours to reached IKEA's entrance. Left home around 5:30pm, reached Tampines MRT at 6:30pm, waited for the shuttle bus for about 20 minutes. By the time we reached IKEA, there was another long queue to walk to the entrance. Luckily the queue is moving, don't need to wait for long.

When we went into the building, the place was full of people, yet still have lots of space to walk around. Most of them are not buying, just only for fun, join the crowd. Purpose of going there was to get some idea for our new house, we think that there would have more design display, but we can't get any. All the design in Tampines, you can get it from IKEA, Alexander Road too. So, we bought some colour boxes to store Wayne's toy and tools. Then we left the place, reaches home 10:30pm.

Overall performance - Good, should give IKEA a credit, where they provided such a good services, they provided a shuttle bus to various place, such as Tampines, Ang Mo Kio, Woodlands, Yishun, Sengkang MRT; giving out water at waiting bay - wait for shuttle bus. They even give out some goodies to the public. They really did a great job.

My First Weekend On December

My weekend schedule is packed.

Saturday morning, 9:45am appointment – Wayne will be having his chickenpox injection. After the injection, will accompany my mum to visit her doctor (NTUC Family clinic), she want to check on her wound condition. I can’t accompany them (my mum, Wayne and my hubby) for a long. I need to attend my Pilates Class, class start at 10:15am.

I love Pilates very much. Pilates helps to build up my strength, endurance, how to inhale & exhale in a correct manner. For those body that out of alignment, it also helps to correct posture. If my schedule too tight, and not able to go for the class, then I will go on Sunday night class.

Later in the afternoon, we have to go IKEA locate at Tampines (just recently open in Tampanies), to get an idea how and what to buy for our new house. Oh! We have bought a house, moving in next year, end of January2007.

We are extremely busy, busy with our new house. We are looking for a contractor to renovate kitchen area, living room and bedroom. Actually, we have chosen a contractor out from the list. The pricing quite reasonable and we like the proposal that had propose to us. Sunday, we will go down to their place to discuss more details, choose the material, colour, and etc.

Thing that we have purchased: oven, hob, washing machine, and fridge. Mmm... ... I should have list out what I have not buy: bed for 2 rooms, sofa, wardrobe, and fan for living room... ... I have more things to buy, but I can’t recall now.

I miss out one more thing, Sunday morning, Wayne's insurance agent coming over, after that then we go IMM Mall to meet up with the contractor. Sunday night need to do some ironing, tidy up the house, attend to house chores.

I have to make a move now… … going back home, take a good rest. Spend quality time with my son. Have a nice weekend!

Everything In A Mess

Last week was my most busy week I ever had since I joined the company. My life was mess up, all my incoming request pilling up and the worst case was the testing part, totally mess up.

I should explain in details, so that you will know what I mean. I was given a task last week to help up on the testing part, to test and make sure the data is correctly store into my system after submit the online survey form. Another part during the UAT is to make sure the doublebyte stuff is not in a broken character. Any one of the above issue occurs, then I need to report and for the respective team have to take action, make changes and correct it accordingly. Thirdly, is to provide the mapping fields, provide field name that was in use to store data. That's it, my responsible is very simply!

Things seem not processing as it is. It was a mess! Everyone think I am the one, managing the survey form, amend the scripts, decision making and lots more. Keep sending emails to me and require my attention to get things resolve. Oh! Gosh! How will I know where to change the script? I don't own any of the scripts. How will I know I need to have different link in order to test on different languages, there was only one URL was given to me! I don't have the power to give instruction, to which and what should amend and do changes!

All this making my life difficult! Confusing me as well! I should say if I were to have knowledge of all the above, then I will be perfect.

Leaving Soon... ...

25Oct2006 Wednesday
My dad wanted to meet up with his cousin that haven't see him for years. During lunch hour, took a cab to Bukit Timah Plaza to meet up with my cousin - Dennis and my dad.

Looking in the directory for dad's cousin office when I reached Bukit Timah Plaza but wasn't in the directory. So, I called up and found out that my dad has make a big mistake, his cousin's office is in Bukit Timah Shopping Center, not Bukit Tima.h Plaza. So, I have to walk all the way from Bukit Timah Plaza to Bukit Timah Shopping Center, luckily is not too far. As for them, my cousin drive, so they will meet me there.

End up we have our lunch opposite of the building, my dad's cousin step out of his office to attend a meeting, so they can't meet up with each other. After our lunch, I have to rush back to my office and my dad need to go to the bus station to take bus back to KL.

Today, I called up my mum, talk to her for a while, I didn't manage to visit her due to my tight schedule for the day, so no updates on her.

Went to Singapore Night Safari

23Oct2006, Monday, brought Wayne to Singapore Night Safari. Is a rush for me to meet them at 6:30pm. After work, rushed out from my office, took a cab and go. Reached there around 7pm, meet them (My hubby, Wayne, My dad, Aunty Cheng) at the entrance, then we go in the queue to take tram, tour around.

While we are in the tram going in to visit those animals, Wayne started to move around impatiently. I think he don't really enjoy much at his age of 15 months. We have a nice good day in Night Safari and we enjoyed a lot especially in the Animal Show.

Thanks to my cousin - Dennis, provide his driver and transportation, fetched them from TTSH to Nigh Safari and sent us all back home.

A Call From A Friend Of Mine

Received a call from my friend last Tuesday (17Oct2006) night. She is one of my primary classmate and we keep in touch with each other till now. She is getting married and invited me to attend her wedding dinner on 08Dec2006 (Friday). Hopefully I can arrange a trip down again.

I have 2 invites actually, another will be on 04Nov2006, I can't make it. Last month I just went back to KL, my mum still in the hospital now. I have no idea when will she discharge from hospital. I have to call and inform her that I am not able to attend her wedding dinner on 04Nov2006.

The Zoo - 动物园记

We have wanted to bring Wayne to Zoo, but time not permitted, so we postpone again and again. Saturday's PSI was high, 109 reach to unhealthy level and is not good to have outdoor activities.

Woke up early Sunday morning, around 5am, to check on the PSI level, PSI level still has not decreased. So we decided to cancel off our plan again. Laying down on my bed with my eye closed, thinking where should we go for Sunday? Need to plan elsewhere to go - a place that suits whole family to spend with, the only place that come in my mind is to go shopping, is a indoor place and no haze around. Is this a good idea? Which shopping mall should we go then? I have no idea at all.

By 7:30am, PSI updated and the level decreased to 68, so we decided to stick on to our plan - go to Zoo. Prepare our things then we go. Left home at 8:30am, took a cab to Mandai Road - Zoo. First thing when we reach there is to sign up a yearly access pass (If you are planning to visit the Zoo often, then this will highly recommended), this is more economical (if you tend to visit the Zoo more than once with family) than pay for every visit.

Secondly, after signing up for the yearly pass, we rented a motorist wheelchair for my mum.

Here she is with the motorist wheelchair. Hubby guiding her how to operate.

Having breakfast!

She has difficulty to walk long distance, when she walk a lot, she tends to have swollen leg and she need to rest in the bed for few days and with medication as well. So with the help of the motorist wheelchair, she can move far distance and go around together with us. Whole day she enjoyed exploring around and as well as a nearer distance watching monkey being feed.

Wayne has a good day as well, especially when he is in the children playland, splashing water and swing. I don't know how much can he see and understand but we still point to every animal that we saw.

Reached home at 4pm and need to get dinner ready for everyone.

Take A Trip Back To KL

Whole family (my mum, hubby, Wayne and I) went back to KL last Friday (06Oct2006). 7:30am departure from Singapore to KL and we reached KL around 1pm.

We stop at Bangsar LRT station and the traffic over there extremely terrible. Heavy jam, full of people near the bus stop and the air was polluted by the haze and as well coming out from the vehicles. When I first got down from the bus, I can feel difficulty of breathing, and the weather was hot and humid.

Everywhere jam, going back to my dad’s place also took us 30 minutes to reach. If there is no jam, just only 10 minutes drive from Bangsar LRT station back to Brickfields.

Injured His Finger

Yesterday night, as usual, after our dinner, bath then change him. After changing him, I bring him out, we walked along the corridor downstairs, the building that we are now staying. Meet his friend Bryan and another whose name same as him call Wayne, both of them are staying at 1st floor. After a while, daddy came down. Babies play with each other and for adult, we chat.

After a while, we dismissed, is time for babies go to bed. By the time the lift door open, Wayne wanted to grab hold of the door, by the time his finger go in between gap, daddy pull his finger out. What happen, he cried, tears fall out from his eye. His finger got hurt and bleeding.

I carried him and rush to the basin and wash off the blood from his finger. He stop crying when I washed his finger, ‘WooWoo’ few sound, seems like telling me something but I have no time to listen what he want, just concentrate washing off the blood and clean his hand. Daddy bring out the first aid box, look for medicine and apply to his hand.

Poor Wayne!

All Of Us Enjoyed!

WOW! Although 5 minutes late for the movie, but we do really enjoyed.

7:40pm movie start but we left home at around 7:30pm after bathing and changed him. My hubby carrying Wayne and I walk + run a little to rush to the cinema. Oh, is 10 to 15 minutes walk distance from our place, is a little rush for us.

Ya! We watch 'Monster House'. I bought 2 tickets from the counter and we rushed to the cinemaI’s entrance. I have no idea what time is it when we entered to the cinema, what I know is ‘Monster House’ started.

When we entered, Wayne was so attracted by the big, huge screen in a dark room. From side way, you can see his eye, silently, concentrate at the moving picture on the screen. I really wanted to know what is he thinking, what is in his mind on that period of time. Unfortunately, I can’t! We walked to our seats (H4 and H5) and sit down.

Wayne makes some noise while pointed to the screen when I was just wanted to sit down. His voice wasn’t that loud but able heard it when is in a quiet place. I just answered him ‘mmm… …’.

This is his 1st time watching movie in a cinema, although he wanted and tried to get down from the seat but he sits most of the time watches the movie. Oh, ya! Few times when part of the story have a sudden appear with the sound effect together, it frighten him and he jerk but luckily he did not cry. I think he enjoyed watching the movie and we enjoyed too.

Surprisingly, there are only 9 people (include Wayne, my hubby and I). I can count them when the movie ends.

STOP For Everything

No matter what happen, I will just stop everything (my work) when the time reaches 6pm. Not going to attend any incoming issue, incoming request or anything, just walk away from my desk and go back home.

I want to go for a MOVIE!!!

Since after delivered Wayne, we have not been to cinema to watch any movie, so today we have plan to watch 'Monster House' and will bring along Wayne too. Mmm... ... This is his 1st time going to cinema. Will he sit quietly watch or moving around impatiently? This is interesting we have not experience before! Tomorrow, then I will share with you.

What a BOSS I have!

I have a bad day! Terrible day I ever had. I was so sad, extremely sad and disappointed!

One request coming from one of my boss via email to extract some information from a particular Business Partner, and this request is from Australia. Actually, this user does have the rights to access to the page to extract out the records and I don’t understand why this request still comes to me.

Not to say I want to push away the jobs, but from my perspective, R&R as a ‘SUPER’ administrator, those that they (user) can’t find it or the features are not provided in the application, then I will come into the picture and have the work done.

So, I just access to the page and click on the link, save the file and reply to the email with the extracted file and as well provide with the steps and screen capture from where to have the file extracted. Few minutes later, after I send out that email, my so call ‘BOSS’ walk over.

BOSS: AUDREY! (Pause for a while) Is this your 1st job?
Audrey: Nop! (I answered and with lots of question mark in my head)
BOSS: Then! What do you do in your previous job?

I feel so insult when I heard this, are you having doubts with my work experience? This hurt me a lot.

Audrey: Support, as well as analyst data and generate reports.
BOSS: then why did you provide me with such a bad report!

This hurt me even more. With 6 years of work experience as a Programmer to a System Analyst/IT Support Analyst, I have more than enough experience to take up this position.
I stun for a while, there is more question mark (?), coming out from my head. I have no idea what and why did he do that to me. I open the file at my workstation and try to find out what he really wants. What kind of report that he expecting.

BOSS: We are in Marketing! We work in a Marketing department. Can’t you make the report more presentable?

Can he be more polite and don’t be so sarcastic? Can he please find out the reason on why the report is generated like that before questioning me with harsh word? I feel that he is so inconsiderate on how others feel.

I explain to him that is impossible to make the alignment and the structure of the report nice. There is lots of data being entered and the data was store like below.

Audrey: More of this string store in same field. If we extend the column, it will look messier.

As he scrolls down the page and have a glance on the data as I show to him. He keeps quiet for a while.

BOSS: Can you remove all this unwanted string?
Audrey: I can do it with just only 1 record in the file manually but there are lot more in this report, is impossible. Moreover, if I accidentally remove part of the data, what will happen? I don’t think I have the rights to amend.
BOSS: Do you!
Audrey: NO!

He just walks away like that without saying anything. This really drives me crazy! What a BOSS I have! After he left, I walk away from my desk for an hour.

Busy Life!

Been quite some times I have not write anything in my blog. I am busy since I started work, busy attending with incoming request. After work, I need to rush back, take care of Wayne and as well need to attend to his needs.

How about my hubby? He will help up with the house chores when he comes back. After Wayne finished his meal, my hubby will bath him and play with him during bath time. Wayne enjoyed and so does my hubby, one thing he hates most is to dress him up (after bath), my baby will not sit there and let you dress him, he will move every where and rolling from one site to the other site, he will even like to bite the cover of the containers (balm cream, power & lotion container). I think most of the babies do that as well. So what I will do, just follow him around, here and there, spend 15 minutes to apply powder and lotion on him, wear his diaper and clothes. He enjoys and we will not feel so frustrated as well.

Yes, you are right, Carrie! After my baby turn 1, I tend to be busier. His is more mobile, and he wants to explore more, so he crawl around his room. When he learns to walk, he wanted to go out from his room, explore living room. Now he even explore further, he started to open drawers and cabinet when he is in the kitchen and even enter to the bathroom. So, my hubby and I need to follow him whenever he goes.

How To Recruit The Right Person For The Job?

Put about 100 bricks in some particular order in a closed room with an open window. Then send 2 or 3 candidates in the room and close the door. Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours and then analyze the situation.

If they are counting the bricks.
Put them in the accounts department.
If they are recounting them.
Put them in auditing.
If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks.
Put them in engineering.
If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order.
Put them in planning.
If they are throwing the bricks at each other.
Put them in operations.
If they are sleeping.
Put them in security.
If they have broken the bricks into pieces.
Put them in information technology
.
If they are sitting idle.
Put them in human resources.
If they say they have tried different combinations, yet not a brick has been moved.
Put them in sales.
If they have already left for the day.
Put them in marketing
.
If they are staring out of the window.
Put them on strategic planning.
And then last but not least.
If they are talking to each other and not a single brick has been moved.
Congratulate them and put them in top management

Millions Of Rain-Drops

Millions of rain-drops
Have fallen all around,
They have danced on the house-tops,
They have hidden in the ground.
They were liquid-like musicians,
With anything for keys,
Beating tunes upon the windows,
Keeping time upon the trees.

I have waited for these days... ...

... ... since 25July2005 when I passed by the hall in KK Women's and Children's Hospital and come to know that they do organise 'Best Breastfed Baby Contest', but when I notice it, the contest already ended, feel so disappointed!

Days, weeks, even months passes, I have wanted to enroll Wayne to take part in 'Best Breastfed Baby Contest', but no information found on the hospital sites. At last these days has come, I am so excited when I first saw it posted on KKJuniorsClub, I downloaded the registration form, filled up all the information, but his birth certificate and a recent 4R full-length photograph is require. So, I need to send his photo to develop - I have not do so, will be sending his photo to develop on this coming Wednesday.

Wait again! HuH!

Busy and Tire Days

BUSY! Not busy taking care of Wayne but is busy with my work. Oh! If you didn't read my previous blog, update you that I am working now.

I am tire too! Now I experience how tire, really tiring when you are a mom cum working. Can you imagine, while you are looking at the screen, yet your eyes and minds can't concentrate on what you wanted to do, especially during knowledge transitioning.

I have been working for 6 days, yet I have not getting my own login yet! FAINT! My role is supporting database, there isn't any SQL enterprise install into my laptop, no access permission grant, not even read access permission. How am I going to work! GOSH!

Data was pull from the DB into a excel spreadsheet and this was done by the US team. You know what! I imported those data into a MS Access and do all the queries! Why can't I just access to the DB and do my queries directly?

Oh, please make things work probably.

Eight Big Fingers

Eight big fingers standing up tall,
Two little ears to hear mummy call,
One little nose that I can blow,
Ten little toes all in a row.
Two short tumbs that wriggle up and down,
Two little feet to stand on the ground,
Hands to clap and eyes to see,
Oh, what fun just to me!

Another tired day…

… I am so tired today, when I first get up in the morning, how much I wish is time for bed again, so that I can go back to sleep.

If this is true, how nice will it be... ...

Wayne has his afternoon nap yesterday, a long nap, from 3:00pm – 6:30pm. 10:00pm go to bed but fall asleep at 10:45pm, after his last feeding. Guess what? He gets up for another feeding at 12:35am this morning, after his feeding he didn’t want to go back to sleep, even not in his cot either. He crawls around on our bed, roll from one side to another side. Poor daddy, being disturb from his sleep.

Carry him away and bring him to his playroom without switch on the light, purpose is to help him to get to sleep again, on the other hand there are lights coming from the corridor. He crawl around the room, play with his toys, holding the cupboard, grill, wall and so on for support to move himself around the room. By 2:30am then he fall asleep by himself, but I have difficulty to get back to sleep.

OMG! By the time I am able to sleep, he wake up again for feeding, I am really exhausted, not too sure what is the time after his feeding and not too sure when I doze off until my mum wake me up to answer a call. Is 10 o’clock in the morning!
Oh ya, I have got a job, need to get back to work this coming Friday (07April2006), so that is why my mum is here. She stays with me now and to take over my day care role.

THANKS MUMMY!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH for sacrificed your time helping up to take care of Wayne.

My Mum Went For Operation

18Oct2006 (Wednesday)
Morning, one of the staff called and informed me that my mum's ward is at 12B bed number 60.

I have had apply 3 days leave to accompany my mum. Admitted her to hospital for operation on her thigh on 19Oct2006. When everything ready and prepared, then we go, left home around 3:30pm.

Here is her bed. We are waiting for the admin to process the paper work.

19Oct2006 (Thursday)
9:30am called her and she was still in her bed, doctor and nurses there and they haven't pushed her to Operation Theater (OT). Called her again at about 10:30am, no body picked up the phone, I think she is not there. So I called up to the information counter, then I know she already send to OT.

Doctor told us before during her checkup that she will go through 6 hours operation, so I called at 5pm to check on her status, she is not out yet. 6:30pm, I tried to called again, person in charge at information counter told me that they don't have any update yet. I started to worry, what took her so long to come out from the OT. I have no answer, what I can do is wait! 等待是最痛苦的!

7:15pm, called again, at last I have the answer. She was out from the OT, she was at 6C bed 56. Great! I didn't go to the hospital, is too late, Wayne has to take his dinner and bath.

20Oct2006 (Friday)
Morning, first thing that I have to do was called up to the information counter to checked on my mum's condition. She is fine and the operation is successful, she will transfer back to normal ward this afternoon. Glad to hear that.

Went to visit her in the afternoon and accompany her till my hubby come over after his work. We had our dinner at TTSH food court.

When I first saw her laying on the bed, there were so many things hanging around her, 4 inputs and 4 outputs. A pipe on her nose to give her more oxygen, 3 packets of medicine (I have no idea what is it) drip into her body, 1 is to collect her urine, another 3 bottle is to collect excessive blood from her cut area. She was injected with morphine. After the injection, she vomited, even a sip of water, she will throw out everything. So she didn't take any food for the day, this cause her more weak.

21Oct2006 (Saturday)
Bought her a basket of Daisy. Wish her recover soon.

She is better compare to yesterday.

She can eat some porridge but she can't sit up to have her meal, so she has to lie down on her bed to eat.

Hubby take a nap while Wayne is not around.

Accompany her till after finished her dinner. Left the place when she fall asleep.

I am back... ...

I Wish... ...

One fine day…. In Wayne’s playroom, accompanying him…

My mum: Audrey, what you wish or want to do when Wayne has grown up?
Audrey: Mmm… I didn’t think of this question. This question has not come into my mind yet. He is still so young.
My Mum: No, I mean that when he is toddler and is more independent by his own.
Audrey: Oh! In that case I wish that I can sleep, sleep and sleep for few days. And of course rest, rest and rest as much as possible. I am lack of sleeps!

My Mum and hubby laugh!

Audrey: I will make my wish on 2006 Christmas day, and let Santa Clause know about this. How I wish my wish comes through.
My hubby: Your wish will surely come through, by the time Wayne already 1 year 5 months old.

All of us laugh. Ya, somehow is true but hopefully by then I can have a nice sweet dream.

Nostalgia of Malaysian 70's Babies

... ... really goes down the memory lane ... ... really miss those days a lot... ...

From a forwarded e-mail:

You grew up watching He-man, Transformers, Thundercats, Silver Hawk, Space Cop Gaban, Ultraman, and Mighty Mouse. Not to forget, Ninja Turtles, Mask and Smurfs too.

You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in primary school after recess time. You squatted by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brushed your teeth with a colourful mug. Remember the days when the school nurse comes with a list for the dentist appointments, the sound of the drilling when your friend has a fill in his tooth.

You remember the packets of milk (Projeck Susu Segar) and milo we get in primary school to encourage us to drink more milk. And when we had to line up just to get one cup, and some of us would line up again for another cup of cold milo. And remember we use to buy susu sekolah and get stomach-ache the next day.

During primary (some KBSR & 3M) school days, the teacher will punish you using a long ruler to hit your palm. A bowl of noodle soup cost only 40cents in primary school days. When you were in primary school, girls like to go to the bookshop to buy cute stuff such as animal erasers, sharpeners, notebook etc. Play with these paper doll... with all the paper clothes.. etc etc

In secondary (some KBSM) school, girls go to the library to borrow their favourite romance storybook. In secondary school, girls altered their school skirt to shorten it and guys will go to the school appointed school uniform tailor shop to tailor make their school trousers to the then fashionable "baggy pants", or the GQ one with all the 'batik' or buckle at the edge of the pocket! the straight cut jeans.. or codroy...

In secondary school days, you buy the Bata BM Turbo school shoes. Some guys like to wear those China made ankle high shoes. Some even like to wear those very thick socks with their school shoes. remember the panda, carefree or warrior shoes...

Internet? E-mail? What the hell is that? So you thought a decade or more ago. Your friends don't have pagers or handphones in school. CDs? What's that? Cassette tapes were the norm. Movie tickets used to cost less than RM5 last time. there is no KLCC.. Pertama or Bukit Bintang the only place we have..

The goodies from Mamak shop used to be Mamee, Ka ka, Kum Kum, Ding Dang choco balls (with toys in the box) + the mat sentul voices as a jingle, colourful hard "egg", "cigerette" chocolate, pink bottle of bubbles, and small tubes with yellow sticks to blow "more lasting" bubbles that you can pop more air in or slam it on.

You never forget 'Ti Kam'. When exams are over, the board games (eg: UNO, Monopoly, CLUEDO) & hand held video games will be all over the class room. Girls will start playing 'batu seremban'. guys with 'tudung botol oren' Your favourite sound is the bell! For it's the homemade ice cream man. The cream that tops Haagan Dazs! The pink colour ice-cream with eyes plus a wide smile.

Another bell is the recess bell, a time to get away from school work and to eat. Another time when there is no bell but all guys will anxiously wait for it...The PJ, PE time (time for football!!)

Your favourite childhood games were playing "guli"(marbles), five stones, zero-point, catching, and/or "Pepsi-Cola one two three"! The best thirst quencher of all times is the yummy colourful ice tubes you can buy from provision shops. To eat them, break the tab and suck while holding the freezing tube! All gals had barbie dolls, My Little Pony, pound puppy, Polly Pocket and etc, while all boys had star wars figurines or a rubber band catapult that shoots folded paper or eraser bits. Once was the era whereby ice-cream sticks were valueable items, than came the paper aircrafts, chalk fights.

Everyone envied the class monitor and his assitant, cos they were the ones who came up with the daily duty roster, giving names to teacher on who makes the most noise and who's running around the class. The elite group are the prefects, the one with license to move around, they consider themselves above the law when not many students actually listened to them, and that's when the PK Hem comes in.

Some boys made their own guns from wood, and used 'Bacali' as the bullets. Some even used matches to shoot and burn kids'lanterns during Latern Festival.. and you also rather to 'ponteng sekolah' juz to watch final episod of Moero Attack .. miss that much.. summersault berkembar... hehehe.. still remember this one..

Cheers to the 70's..80's babies... WE RULE THIS WORLD!

From Sunday onwards... ...

... ... I will be away from my computer. I am still in town, not going elsewhere. Promotion for 2 months free internet access ended on this Sunday, so I am not able to access to my MSN space frequently.

No more free access!!! I will miss all of you out there... especially my blogger friends...

Helen Rowland quotes - English-American writer, 1876-1950

To be happy with a man you must understand him a lot and love him a little
To be happy with a woman you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all.
A woman will always cherish the memory of the man who wanted to marry her.
A man will always cherish the memory of the women whom he didn't marry.

In What Order Will Baby's Teeth Come In?

Wayne is having his 3rd teeth cutting through his upper front gum. I have no idea when exactly the teeth cutting through his gum, especially is difficult to open his mouth to see it. I can just only touch his gum by pushing my finger into his mouth to feel it.

I posted the following information into my blog is because I find it easy to refer and wanted to share it with you. It is just only a guideline to refer when and which teeth is going to cut through babies gum and I hope this information helps and is useful.

The ages given are averages and babies vary in their development.

teeth1

Between six and ten months.
The first teeth to appear are the two lower front teeth.

teeth2

Between eight and thirteen months.
The top four incisors are next.

teeth3

Between ten and sixteen months.
Two more incisors appear in the lower front and then, the first back teeth (first year molars).

teeth4

Between sixteen and twenty-three months.
The pointed side teeth (canines) are next.

teeth5

Between twenty-three and thirty-three months.
And lastly the remaining back teeth (second year molars). By the time your baby is three, he or she will have all twenty of his or her primary teeth.

Photo Taken During Wayne's Swimming Lesson

Wayne is wearing his new swim diaper attending his swimming lesson. This photo taken before we put him in wetsuit.

Swimming Lesson

Sunday (05Mar2006) Wayne has his first swimming lesson but the weather seems not so good. We are looking forward to a sunny day but end up become windy day, even the swim diaper is too small to keep him warm.

When we went into the pool, with his swim diaper, he doesn't really feel comfortable, he start to frown his forehead, giving us a sign that he doesn't really like it. Is the weather too cold for him? Or the water in the pool is cold? Or he is not used to the environment? I am not too sure, but I feel cold while I am in the pool.

They provided a temporary wetsuits, so we try to put him into it. After patting some water onto him and give him a toy, then he enjoy playing with it. Can you imagine how he looks like when he is in a big swimming pool? My wife has taken some photo of us and posted into her photo album.

The lesson started at around 3:30pm. Instructor provides demonstrations and guide us (parent) throughout the lesson. As a father, I have more confidence on holding him and play with him in the pool. I enjoyed a lot.

As for Wayne, he enjoyed exploring his toy by putting it into his mouth rather then swimming.
