Sign Of Labor

Since last week Saturday, I experience some discharge from vagina, with some blood tinged mucous. I have no idea what it was, basically lazy to check it out or ask. Continuously after 2 days of discharge, then I told my hubby about the incident. I was surprise by his answer, "Oh, that is a sign of labor.". Wow! He is more knowledgeable than me!

I have not experience before when I deliver my first baby. I still remembered that night I have an urge of going to toilet, some pinkish watery flow down without any labor contraction or pain. I am very clam that time, rang up my mum to confirm but was advice to call up the hospital. I was told to admit after some question being clarified. 4am out from the house with hubby together, the hospital is near, took us less than 10 minutes to arrive. 4:30am I have changed and laying on the bed, everything was ready. What I am waiting for?

5am labor contraction began, the pain still bearable, we insist not to take epidural, not cost saving, just only to prevent having future side effect on my back. During the contraction, I feel my bed was wet, I just lost control and wet my bed. I feel so embarrass, but with the pain, who cares and bothers!

When one of the nurse entered to check on me, then I told her about it, from there then know it was my water bag burst. I feel relief but on the other hand make me so embarrass again where I even don't know that was my water bag burst. Shame!

Here you go, pushing time, in between I was suffer from muscle cramp at my calf, so horrible and painful till I have to pause to relax, after that continue again, I have no idea how many push I did, but I managed to have a normal delivery to my adorable baby Wayne at 8:37am!

Back to the discharge from vagina issue. Till today, then I went to the internet to find out what it is all about. After reading few articles, that is only an early sign of labor. Here some notes for me to refer: -

What is the mucous plug?
The mucous plug is a collection of cervical mucus that seals the opening of the cervix. It keeps bacteria and infection from entering into the cervix, providing a protective barrier for the developing baby.

What does the mucous plug look like?
Some women describe the mucous plug as looking more like the mucous in your nose. It may look like a thick glob of stringy mucous, thicker than what you would see with normal vaginal secretions. If you are close to going into labor you may see pink, brown, or red blood aound the edges of the mucous plug. This is called the "bloody show".

When do you lose your mucous plug?
Some women will lose their mucous plug or part of their mucous plug weeks before they go into labor. Losing your mucous plug does not always mean labor will begin shortly. Keep in mind that even if a woman has begun to dilate, it may be weeks before she actually goes into labor. However, if you notice blood tinged mucous before your thirty-sixth week of pregnancy, notify your doctor right away. As your body prepares for labor your cervix will begin to dilate and thin. As your cervix opens up, your mucous plug may fall out. Losing your mucous plug is a good sign that labor is on its way. Though, it could be days or even weeks after you lose your mucous plug before labor actually starts. Many women do not lose their mucous plug at one time; instead, they lose it more gradually. They may notice an increase in vaginal secretions weeks before they go into labor.

My Pregnancy in Week 40!

I am in week 40 now, yet baby Enya ready to meet us.

Visited my gynae today. Hubby requested ultrascan for this visit, bother him most is her weight, will she be too big for me to deliver when she is ready! I think he feel more relief after going through all the scan, measurement and discussion with the gynae.

From the ultrascan, measurement base on her leg, she is now 3.5kg. When gynae measure base on my tummy size, weigh calculated is 3.2kg, there is different of 0.3kg. Which is more accurate?

I have no idea when will Enya ready to come out and I have no sign of contraction either. I am so miserable now! Within these 7 days, yet to deliver Enya, next appointment then will decide either to induce or other alternative option will given!

Pray hard, hopefully she will be out before the next appointment!

I am Sick Again!

I am sick again! This time round not flu or cough, just caught stomach flu from Wayne after 3 days.

Wayne went out with his daddy to buy dinner back! I am feeling better now but a little discomfort! Trying to blog whatever I remember!

I am having headache this morning, stomach not feeling well, feels like gastric pain. My mum has to go for eye treatment today as schedule, I can't really cope with him with my current condition, just only him. Left with no choice, I have to SOS daddy back. Poor daddy, have to apply childcare leave and rush back to take care both of us!

After having cereal with milk for breakfast, condition even worst, just throw out everything that I had after 30 minutes. Wayne watching me vomits and says "YUCKS!", then walk off! Faint! But I know he knows that his mummy is not feeling well, better let her rest and don't disturb. Just finished cleaning up the mess, daddy is back to help up!

Phone ring, is my dad, update us that my grandma just pass away, feel so sad as I didn't managed to visit her during CNY and I can't travel out to attend her funeral as my EDD is around the corner. I will miss her forever, she is a great and best grandma in the world!

What happen to today? Seems everything coming in a day! Hubby says "Bad omen, bad Tuesday!"

Whole day resting, lying on my bed, feels so dizzy and tired. Daddy entertains the little one, and I really have a good rest! Thanks daddy for doing a great job!

Our 2009 Easter Day

This year, we are not dinning in at any hotel to celebrate Good Friday. One of the reason is to cut some cost, the other reason is, I will deliver my baby any moment and we don't wish to rush to hospital while enjoying our moment!

Morning, prepared breakfast for my family - bread with egg & cheese toasted, a sausage and some mix veggie. Something unusual and was my first time preparing, glad that hubby loved it so much!

Nothing special for lunch, just have Easter egg hunt prepared for Wayne after his afternoon nap. During his nap, hubby and I busy placing all Easter eggs that we bought from the super market in various place where he can easily access - limited to his room and living hall.

We had try our best to place it in a more visible area, such as on top of the TV console, next to the TV, on the sofa and etc, but I notice that not easy for a age of 3years 8months old boy to spot. End up hubby and I have to give some hints and guide him throughout the hunt. He enjoys and having fun during the egg hunt. As for us, we enjoy seeing him hunting his Easter egg and got excited when found any of them!

1st Easter egg found! He was so excited and wanted to eat it on the spot!

Total of 18 Easter egg found that prepared by his daddy and mummy for the egg hunt.

Wayne can't wait anymore, keep asking us for the Easter egg. When he was given a choice to pick one Easter egg and this is what he pick, choose the biggest Easter egg to eat!

36 Weeks Now!

I am in 36 weeks by now! Today going for my routine prenatal check up, scheduled time given was quite early, but we managed to arrive on the dot.

Surprisingly, there wasn't any crowd, where we don't need to wait. Hubby requested for the scan, he wanted to know how heavy the baby is by now and as well to have a look on his little girl. Baby was not cooperative enough during the scan, her face was facing opposite direction where we only see her back.

Here's the print, what a waste to pay just only view her back, can't see anything.

Our gynae only did the growth measurement and calculated her weight, she is 2.8kg now, by full term, her estimated weight will be 3.3kg.

M next appointment schedule will be next week, one week later! By then I am in my 37 weeks! Just wonder, when will my little girl wants to pop out!
